After a little exploration, I found that Kansas City is large and varied enough that I could simply stroll up Main Street and deviate where there were points of intrigue. This led to many interesting discoveries that I probably would not have found if I had been more rigid in my location parameters. Being able to let my curiosity drive my exploration strengthened my work because I did not force myself into any difficult situations or boring locations that would have produced sub-par images. The result of my travels is a group of pictures that span 45th to 17th street mostly along Main. They focus on the deteriorating manmade structures that populate the city and the small narratives that can be found in their midst.
